Drill Helper

Wilmington, NC

Established engineering/geology firm is seeking an entry level Drill Helper for an immediate position in Wilmington, NC.  This position involves physical labor working directly with a Wilmington, NC based drill crew performing environmental and geotechnical exploratory drilling mainly in the coastal plain of North Carolina.   

Work will include helping driller with boring and monitoring well installation and collecting soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis.  

 

Ideal candidate would want to pursue career in the drilling industry.

 

Must be self motivated, hard working, works well in a team environment, able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. and work in all weather conditions. Overnight travel is routinely required.  Pre-employment, random drug testing and criminal background check required.  Benefits include opportunities for growth and advancement, paid time off, health insurance, dental and 401K. Field Geologist

Wilmington, NC

CATLIN Engineers and Scientists (CATLIN) is seeking an entry level geologist.  Responsibilities include a variety of field and office tasks associated with geotechnical and geo-environmental investigations.

Field activities will include site reconnaissance, supervision of investigative team, field logging of soil and rock samples, supervising monitoring well installation, collection of soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis, and basic GPS and traditional surveying.  

 

In addition, this position will involve evaluation of field and laboratory data, data reduction and input, geotechnical laboratory testing, preparation of data tables, and report preparation.  Having a working knowledge of spreadsheets, gINT, Microstation, various geotechnical software, hydrogeological software, and any transportation related experience is a plus.   

 

Position requires overnight travel, mostly in North and South Carolina.  OSHA HAZWOPER training desired but not necessary.  Also, requires ability to obtain DoD military security clearance. Pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing during employment will be conducted.
